Mera Peak is at the altitude of 6476m which is the highest of all official trekking peaks of Nepal. Mera peak is located in the south of Everest. Mera Peak Climbing requires a strong physical condition and good on hand mountaineering skills although it is not technically difficult. However Mera Peak is very high, the climb is straightforward and is frequently ascended by people having extrovert sense of adventure and good physical fitness. 

We begin Mera Peak Climb with the scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek through the gorgeous forested hillsides and over many passes before the Mera La Pass. We descend to Lukla after summit. Mera Peak Climbing is in fact a high altitude trek and climb. So, you need to be fit and conversant with the use of ice axe and crampons. In the favorable weather conditions, it is possible for fit party to reach the summit of Mera Peak and return to the base camp in a single day. Scaling the summit of Mera Peak is indeed rewarding experience as it lets you witness the glorious views of Kanchenjunga and Makalu as well as Amadablam, Kang Taiga, Cho Oyu, Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse.

Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our representatives from Active Everest Treks will receive you in Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to the hotel.

Day 02 : Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing and Pre-Trip Meeting 
Today, you will have a full day guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley. You will visit the Pashupatinath (the Holiest Temple of Lord Shiva), Swayambhunath (the Monkey Temple), Bauddhanath (one of the oldest and largest Buddhist Monastery) and Kathmandu Durbar Square among others. Many of the sites are cited as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. You will also have a pre-trip meeting for the necessary preparation today. You stay overnight at hotel.

Day 03 : Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2804m) and trek to Chutok (2800m): 3 hours
We today catch our scenic morning flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. The flight will take around 35 minutes to reach Tenzing and Hillary Airport at Lukla. Upon arrival at the Lukla Airpot, our guides will brief you and introduce with our porters before we begin our trek to Chutok. Then, we start trekking to Chutok and it takes approx. 3 hours to reach there. We stay overnight at guesthouse.

Day 04 : Trek from Chutok to Pangkongma (2950m): 6 hours
After the pass of Col Khari La, we follow the trail along the mountain sides through the Khari Khola Valley to set up camp in Pangkongma. We stay overnight at tented camp. 

Day 05 : Trek from Pangkongma to Kurke (3800m): 5 hours
We follow magnificent route via mountain that tops through rocky and barren backdrops. We pass through the awesome panorama of wooded regions below us. We stay overnight at camp. 

Day 06 : Trek from Kurke to Thuli Kharka (4200m): 6 hours
We climb up to a pass at 4400m today and then descend towards Thuli Kharka (Vast Pasture). We stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 07 : Trek from Thuli Kharka to Khothey (3600m): 5 hours
Today, we descend on hillsides passing through pleasant meadows and lower down through forests of blue Himalayan pines and rhododendrons. We can witness the panoramic views of south face of Mera Peak. We stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 08 : Trek from Khothey to Thangnag (4350m): 6 hours
Today, we climb up the Hinku Valley through summer pastures. Well, the valley narrows near the Lungsamba between Kusum Kangru (6369m) and West Summit of Mera Peak (6255m). We stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 09 : Acclimatization and Rest day at Thangnag
We spend a day in Thangnag in order to acclimatize with higher altitude. We stay overnight at tented camp. 

Day 10 : Trek from Thangnag to Khare (4900m): 4 hours
Today, we climb up along the lateral moraine of the Dig Glacier providing interesting views of Mera Peak. We stay overnight at tented camp. 

Day 11 : Trek from Khare to Mera La (5415m) and Base Camp (5300m): 5 hours
We progress our trek along the snowy glacier and approach the Mera La Pass. We then reach the Mera Peak Base Camp. We stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 12 : Climb Base Camp to High Camp (5800m): 5 hours
Today we will climb to High Camp from Base Camp. The stunning panoramas of mountains rising over 7000m including Mount Everest, Mount Makalu, Mount Chamlang, Mount Baruntse, Nuptse and Lhotse among others. To the west, we witness the Amadablam, Kantega and Cho Oyu. We stay overnight at tented camp. 

Day 13 : Summit to Mera Peak (6476m) and return to Khare (4900m): 10 hours
Today, we start early in the morning depending on the weather conditions. We retrace our trail back to Khare. We stay overnight at tented camp. 

Day 14 : Spare Day in case of bad weather
We can take this day as contingency day in case the weather is not favorable. We take rest all the day. But if the weather is fine enough for continuing our trek, we just escape this day. We stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 15 : Trek to Khothey (3600m): 6 hours
Today, we leave the mountains behind us and move through Thangnag before reaching Khothey. We stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 16 : Trek from Khothey to Thuli Kharka (4200m): 6 hours
We retrace back to Thuli Kharka today and stay overnight in tented camp. 

Day 17 : Trek from Thuli Kharka to Lukla (2804m): 7 hours
We finally return to Lukla where the trek began. We stay overnight at guesthouse.

Day 18 : Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu
Today, we fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla. In the remaining time, you can take your time to explore the Kathmandu city. And in the evening, we will have a farewell dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant with cultural performances. You stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 19 : Final Departure
Today, your Nepal trip concludes and our representatives will drop you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your returning home flight.
